"My husband was a great man. We had just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. His biggest joy was his grandkids. All of them in sports, so we spent many nights and weekends at basketball and volleyball games and tournaments. He always made sure if there was a camp or something they needed he would get. He loved playing games with them, working in the yard, and playing cards with friends. I will miss him a lot."

"My 27 years old nephew passed away from covid-19 on April 17th. It devastated our family. We still can't believe this is true. My brother and two of his sons had covid-19. They were in the hospital for over a month. My brother is doing a lot better. But he's on oxygen now. My other nephew was on the vent for 2 weeks or so. He is doing great. But he had to learn how to walk again. And he's has a blood clot in his leg. He didn't make it to his brother funeral. My brother and his wife had to wait until he was strong enough to tell him about his brother passing away. My other nephew that passed away was on a ventilator for two weeks and did not make it off. He had complications from this nasty virus. So if you would be kind enough to make a portrait of my nephew that we be great."

"My dad was an extraordinary man. He worked in the Healthcare field and throughout several ... hospitals over the last 40 years. Spending his last three years at our local VA Hospital. My dad never stopped going. Even at the age of 70 he was working full time, volunteering extra to scan in patients and he would come home and work in his garden or around the house. He was always so joyful and had such an infectious personality. He made friends everywhere he went. He absolutely loved music (all genres), Indy Car racing and the USA. He was incredibly patriotic."

"...We pleaded but were not able to come visit him, the risk was too high and at that point they did not know he had COVID. Instead the doctor FaceTimed us to say goodbye. Me, my fiancée (who my father loved dearly), my mother, and brother and sister all sat around our kitchen table saying our goodbyes. It wasn’t until Friday that my mom got a call confirming that my dad did have the virus and that was likely his cause of death. We were unable to have a traditional funeral. Instead we were able to see him one last time and have my father’s pastor there with us."

"Greg had a big heart and never met a stranger. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, a Makers on the rocks and a craft beer (the darker the better). He was very proud of his two greatest achievements, his sons and truly cherished the role of ‘Pops’ to his grandsons. He will be greatly missed by many."

"My grandfather was one of the hardest working people I know. He taught me how to work on houses, showed me how his job worked at the funeral home, and we always had donuts to celebrate hard work done right."

"My mom had the biggest heart. Her family was her focus, and she loved all of us ferociously… Apologies, it’s hard to speak about her right now. We lost her 3 weeks ago today with absolutely no notice or preparation. None of us were able to say goodbye which just breaks my heart. Thank you all for doing this, it’s a wonderful idea."

"Due to Covid-19, I was not able to be with my mother or my grandmother when they were sick or when they passed. I know first hand that one of the worst parts of this disease is the inability to be with our loved ones. I would truly appreciate a portrait of my mother, as the little solace I get right now comes from looking at old photos and exchanging stories of them with others."

"Randy was the light in the room. He was the sunshine in everyone’s day! He was a beloved family man who always put everyone in the family first! He was always always smiling. We are devastated by the loss of Randy. He made our family while. He always made everyone laugh, had the best food ready for get togethers and made the best fancy cocktails served in red solo cups."

"If you ever looked for the kindest soul, you would find Viktor. He was a man of a gentle spirit who only had abundant never-ending love for everyone. He would find the lonely people, and become their friend. He would reach out to anyone in trouble, and bend over backwards to make them feel better. This man was known by his community as being the man who was an angel on earth. He was a very traditional, simple, and down-to-earth person, so a traditional classical portrait would be fitting."
